Secretary Lahore High Court Bar Association Khawaja Mohsin Abbas in a statement said that there was direct and indirect pressure on the bar by the Law Ministry to make a statement against Justice Qazi Faiz Issa and pass the resolution.

He said that when the bar refused, he made a check of only Rs 4 million instead of the grant of crores of rupees and asked him to come and take it, but he refused to accept the check.

The secretary of the bar said that he was being told that if Justice Qazi Faiz Issa made a statement, he would get a grant but he replied that the Lahore High Court bar would not be blackmailed. She used to get grants in crores. Maqsood Butter, president of Lahore Bar, said that he was asked by the law ministry to contact him and receive the check but he said that if he sent the check, he would not come to collect it.
